Group 1-Triangles Kaiden

Triangle-A triangle is a polygon with three edges and three vertices.

I found a triangle on my Dad's pool table.  It is the rack that holds the pool table balls.

The perimeter is 36 inches and approximately 92 centimeters

What are geometric shapes?

Each group will have a specific task to follow.  Once you complete your task, you must post your answers on this blog.  Have fun and don't be afraid to explore your environment.

Group 1 (triangles)-Kaiden, Giorgi, Prabhleen and Aurora

  • Define a triangle
  • Take a photo of a triangle that you would find inside your house
  • With a ruler, measure the item and find the perimeter of the item in inches and centimeters

Group 2 (rhombus)-Ethan, Ivan, Marta, Albiona

  • Define a rhombus
  • Take a photo of a rhombus that you would find outdoors in your environment.
  • With a ruler, measure the item you found and find record the area of that item in inches and the nearest centimeter.

Group 3 (rectangles)-Adam, Eric, Diyora, Rushona

  • Define a rectangle.
  • Look in a magazine, look for a rectangle and take a photo of the picture.
  • With a ruler, measure the item and record the area of the item in inches and the nearest centimeter.

Group 4 (squares)-Eduard, Sherzod, Yuuichi

  • Define a square.
  • Take a photo of a square you would find inside your house.
  • With a ruler, measure the item and record the perimeter of the shape in inches and the nearest centimeter.
